Charlottesville Real Estate AgentJamie is a 25+ year resident of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. She prides herself on bringing a refreshingly fun energy to the industry and to her clients.  She particularly enjoy helping purchasers find the home of their dreams, whether it’s their first home or an investment property. Jamie has a rich background in design and visual art, so she has been known to help client’s find a home and then offer advice, recommend improvements and contractors and manage renovation projects they may need help with! She also enjoys helping sellers list their homes and offering advice on how to make their homes more salable and how to compete in today’s market. Jamie is a horse enthusiast, so as you might guess, she also LOVES to work with horse farm clients! She is e-PRO© Certified, meaning she has the knowledge to effectively market properties online using the most up-to-date social platforms.  She has the expertise to use these platforms to get your listing noticed. Jamie is also currently working on obtaining her Broker’s license, and will be an Associate Broker for Silvergate Realty in the early months of 2016.

“I currently live near downtown Charlottesville with my SO, Paul, and love it! We have a six-year-old daughter, an SPCA mutt, and three horses (they live at a farm in Free Union).  I am also very involved in health and fitness initiatives and teach at Pure Barre and am a consultant for Beautycounter. It all started with the realization (March 2013) that I needed to sell my big house in the country and move to a small easy to maintain home in the city. I was ready to down size and simplify. But did I have it in me to go over that mountain of putting my home on the market, finding a home I love and moving? Ug. Then I made the best decision I have made in a long time. I called Jamie Kay. I just wanted to gather some info, ask some questions, and stick my toe in the water. Before I knew it THAT SAME DAY Jamie was at my house creating a punch list of things to do before putting my house on the market. She also set the date in order to keep me motivated to complete that list. So I did. Jamie is also a popular photographer in town, so when she showed up to take pictures for the listing I knew I was in good hands. However, when she sent me the photos I couldn’t believe how beautiful they were! My home looked worthy of a magazine! I wanted to buy my home! The big day came, and I prepared myself for a long summer of keeping the house tidy and ready to show. A week later I had an interest, then an offer, then a contract. WHAT? I had to find a house I wanted to buy…and fast! I gave Jamie a pretty clear idea of what I was looking for, and I could tell she was listening. We looked at many houses, but like Goldilocks…they just weren’t “right”. What happened next is hysterical! Jamie found the home of my dreams, and it wasn’t even ON THE MARKET! Then she sent me to the BEST loan officer, the BEST inspector, the BEST closing attorney, the BEST plumber, you get the picture! And all of the documents were managed thru Docusign, which allowed me to review and sign everything from work. She did all of this but I never felt pressured or pushed, as she has an easy going personality that kept me relaxed and calm through the entire experience. This experience took “customer service’ to a whole new level. How often do you get to say that? I moved into my new home in July 2013. My home should still be on the market right now, but its all behind me! Thank you Jamie Kay! You have no idea what a difference you made!”
